30-Day Challenge

My friend Jaclyn is starting a 30-Day Challenge on her blog, and it looks pretty cool and I think I'll do it too. I'll keep the list at the bottom of each Challenge blog.

The first day is "Your Best Friend." I don't really have one single best friend, but I have a few friends who are really close. I suppose if I had to pick just one, right now, I would pick Dennis. Even though we've had our ups and downs (AKA dating, breaking up, dealing with the awkwardness...), he is my closest friend and I feel like I could tell him anything =) Even when I was working through some stuff lately, he's been the person I've talked to about it. Although I'm not entirely sure how he feels about what I've been working through... But even with that, we kinda talked about it, cuz he wanted to know if it was his fault, which it isn't.

And I love being there for him too! Lately he's been working through some stuff too, and although I can't really do much to help, I can be there for him as support, someone to talk to, someone to encourage him to keep going.

Anyways, I gotta get back to work, so that's about all I'll write about today...

Day 1 - Your best friend
Day 2 - Your vices
Day 3 - Your parents
Day 4 - Your siblings
Day 5 - Your dreams
Day 6 - Someone that inspires you
Day 7 - Your job
Day 8 - Your favourite internet friend that you've never met
Day 9 - Someone you wish you could meet
Day 10 - Someone you don't talk to as much as you'd like to
Day 11 - A deceased person you wish you could talk to
Day 12 - Your dream vacation
Day 13 - Something you're looking forward to
Day 14 - Someone you've drifted away from
Day 15 - The person you miss the most
Day 16 - Someone that's not in your state/country
Day 17 - The place you wish you were from
Day 18 - The person that you wish you could be
Day 19 - Something that makes you different
Day 20 - Your favourite television shows
Day 21 - Someone you judged by their first impression
Day 22 - Your pet peeves
Day 23 - The last person you kissed
Day 24 - The person that gave you your favourite memory
Day 25 - A life-changing moment
Day 26 - The last person you made a pinky promise to
Day 27 - The thing you most enjoy doing
Day 28 - Someone that changed your life
Day 29 - Your talent
Day 30 - Your reflection in the mirror

Short Update!

Wow, life sure has been busy lately! Work is going well, life in general is going well, and I'm enjoying it! =)

My mom's birthday was two days ago, and I threw her a surprise party at my place. Well, sorta... She knew she was coming over and I would make her dinner, but what she didn't know was that there were other people here to celebrate too! But it almost turned out bad! The plan was she would come over for about 2pm, and we'd all hang out and play cards, and I'd make dinner. Everything was going so well leading up to the day, the food was all bought and prepped and everything, plans were all set... Then my mom called me at like 1:15 and says, "So, I'm sitting at the St James clinic..." and I'm thinking, oh no she's sick and not coming... =( and she goes on to say, "I dropped a full tub of honey on my baby toe and I think I broke it..." and I'm thinking, oh no she's not gonna get here til like 5 and she'll be in a cast... =S

As it turns out, doctor says her toe is probably just badly bruised, and even if it was broken, they wouldn't be able to do anything for it anyways because it's her baby toe... So she ended up getting to my place at about 3:30, and it all worked out anyways. So happy birthday Mommy, I love you!!! =)

In other news!!! I met a new friend! =) Her name is Alisha, and I met her online actually! We've been chatting a lot in these past few days on Skype, and last night we got together and met in person. We met up at Riverside Inn and played a few games a pool (I totally kicked her butt haha... =P), then we headed back to my place and watched Finding Nemo and Phantom of the Opera, 'twas good times! =) She's coming to To Change A Life on Friday at Southlands with me, so that's pretty cool, and we're getting together on Saturday too, woohoo! =)

So I think that's about all for now... I gotta jump in the shower and head to bed soon, I've had too many late nights lately... =P Until next time! =)

"You Are Always There" by Stephan Lepage

You see right through me
You feel all my pain when I cry
You hold me, console me
You wipe all the tears from my eyes

I will give it all, nothing short of everything
I will lose my life to find life in You, my King
When all else has failed, I will look to You
Cuz You are always there, You're my strength and my refuge
You are always there

You know all my faults
My frame is before Your eyes
I need You, You love me
I value You more than my life

I will give it all, nothing short of everything
I will lose my life to find life in You, my King
When all else has failed, I will look to You
Cuz You are always there, You're my strength and my refuge
You are always there

Even in all Your glory
You remembered me
Even in all Your power
You still cared for me
Omniscient God, eternal Friend
You are with me til the end

I will give it all, nothing short of everything
I will lose my life to find life in You, my King
When all else has failed, I will look to You
Cuz You are always there, You're my strength and my refuge

Hangin' At Bran's

So I'm hanging out at Brandy's tonight with Trapper and Ghislaine... Surprisingly Logan isn't here (the infamous Brangan has been separated hehe) but he's sick so that's not cool... =(

We enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight, thanks to Brandy and Ghislaine! =) Caesar salad, yellow beans, and curry chicken, oh my gosh yummo! =D it was just a bag salad, but the dressing was really good, not too garlic-y... And beans are one of my fave veggies, so that was great! And curry chicken..... mmmmmmmm curry........ and chicken.......... =)

I'm not really sure what to update about haha... I just wanted to come post something...

Oh! So today I got a bunch of stuff done! I went to the bank and got my address changed, went to Wagner (sp?) to look into getting some valid photo ID, and got some apartment insurance (since my mom's been bugging me to haha), went to MTS and got my address changed there, stopped at Mom's to get a UPS slip so I can go pick up my package on Tuesday, went back home and did a load of laundry (washed, dried, folded, and put away, chyeah!), got a visit from Mom and Granny, then got a ride up to Brandy's, where I am now, woop!

Haha so I have the greatest grandmother in the world! While she and my Mom were over, I had told them I had a box of stuff to go to the thrift store, and so they went through it, and I had my black dress from my high school grad in there because it's too small to fit now... My grandma liked it so she tried it on over her clothes, and it would fit her very well without the extra clothes underneath, so she took it home. And it looked very nice on her! =D She tried saying it was too young-looking for her, but Mom and I convinced her it looked great, so she took it. Yay! =D

Alright, well I'm gonna get back to hanging out with Bran, Trapper and Ghislaine, and have a few drinks with them. Until next time! =)

Update

So.... Haven't updated in a while, so I figured I'd post something now, but I only have 20 minutes so I'll have to keep it quick...

First thing's first! I've been trying to work through something pretty personal, so I'm not gonna share what it is (yet?)... But I have recently confided in a good friend, and as it turns out, she's gone through it too! Hazzah! So that was a bit easier for me, talking to someone who knows what I'm talking about... Not that my issue is resolved - far from it - but at least I was able to tell someone who isn't actually involved in it, and that makes me feel better. =)

Work is going well, still working with the 2-yr-olds, still loving it! =D There are moments where I doubt myself and when I wonder why the heck I'm doing this, but then there are those moments where you see the fruits of your labour and you know exactly why you do it and it makes it all worthwhile! For example! My newest girl likes to grab a toy, throw it in one direction, then wander off in the other direction. When I catch this happening, I'll go guide her to the toy she threw and help her pick it up and put it away where it belongs. I haven't really seen any impact it's had on her, but last week her mom came in and asked about how we get her to clean up her toys, and so I told her. Turns out, this child had made a big mess with her toys at home, but then cleaned them up all on her own. I was so excited!!! =D She's been doing better with activities too, when she first started she didn't really want anything to do with them, but she's been showing more and more interest and spending more time doing the activities, and her mom is so excited about that! And it makes me excited too seeing her progress like that! =D

Another of my little boys is at the stage where he mimics EVERYTHING he sees me do! LOL it's so cute watching him now, cuz he'll even just do stuff that I would do without me even doing it first! For example, today one of the baby's shoes fell off, and so he went and picked it up, brought it back to the baby, and said, "We need to keep our shoes on Mister Mister!" I nearly lost it, it was so darn cute!!! =D He's very independent too, he wants to do everything himself! Which is totally fine with me, cuz he needs to learn to do things anyways... Ahhhh I love my kids!!!!! =)

Also, these past two weeks I've been house- and dog-sitting at the Butler's with Sandra. SOOOO fun! Oh my goodness we've watched so many movies, hung out a ton, went shopping, went to the Manitoba Children's Museum with the kids of one of the other daycare staff (we were babysitting), went to the zoo, and had so much fun! Oh goodness, we have so many insiders now, it's awesome! I'm gonna miss that.... =(

PS I have a new theme song for myself! "I'm Awesome" by Spose. Okay, not for real, but I heard it last night at pool and I claimed it as my own haha.

But I must go, gotta get back to work...
